Pre-Season Training Camp in Miami

Pre-Season Training Camp in Miami

While it is cold and rainy in most of Europe Alexander Ritschard and I travel to Miami for the 2014 season training camp. Take a look and see for yourself why Miami is a great location for many professional tennis players to prepare for a long season on tour.

Why Training Camp In Miami Is Great

We decided to travel to Miami to get in shape for 2014 since south Florida offers many great benefits.

First and foremost is the great weather in December and January. It generally allows for outdoor training at temperatures of 65-90 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you like the heat like we do then it’s no surprise that you’ll find more and more good tennis players to play matches or train with. Competition is great!

Another important aspect is affordability. Since one can train outdoors, renting indoor courts and/or training facilities becomes obsolete.

Especially if you can combine the training camp with vacation for the rest of the family.

Training Camp in Miami

From a training standpoint, Miami is ideal because you have almost anything available you can ask for.

Especially with respect to infrastructure, such as outdoor courts, the beaches, outdoor tracks or huge strength & conditioning facilities.

Even if you don’t have access to a university gym near you, most gyms are well equipped and can be used at affordable rates (e.g. L.A. Fitness).

Reason being is that Miami is a fitness and sports town. It’s home to the Miami Heat (NBA), Florida Marlins (MLB), Florida Panthers (NHL), the Miami Dolphins (NFL) and two NCAA division 1 universities (FIU & UM).

So whether you are a junior player or top 10 ATP/WTA player looking to prepare for the Australian Open, South Florida is a great location to prepare for the season.

You can contact us if you are interested in getting in shape while enjoying all the other benefits Miami has to offer.

Have a healthy and successful season in 2014!

Yours truly,
